TRAVEL VLOG: Gatlinburg, TN 2021

My family and I took a weekend getaway to Gatlinburg, Tennessee and we had a great time. It is both family-friendly and adult-friendly with many activities and attractions to see and experience. Below are some highlights from my visit:

DAY 1
➡️ Arrival at AirBnb: We rented out a home in the mountain/woodland area. It was a 3 bedroom & 3 bathroom, 2-floor home with a full kitchen, dining room, living room, and outdoor patios/decks. If you decide to do the same, beware that there are bears that might roam around. We didn’t encounter any, but we were warned. I liked that the whole house had great security and surveillance. There is an on-site resort security that monitors 24/7.

DAY 2
➡️ Visit to downtown Gatlinburg
➡️ Brunch at Ruby Sunshine in downtown Gatlinburg: I highly recommend this spot. The food is delicious and their menu is super big! Lots of sweet and savory options, including southern classics. I ordered their summer special of a Mimosa flight in honor of Pride Month. I also ordered their Peaches & Cream french toast which was super delicious!
➡️ Sky Lift Park: This ride takes you all the way to one of the top points in Gatlinburg, which connects to the Skybridge. I definitely recommend doing this activity. This vantage point is amazing as you can see Smokey Mountains.
➡️ Skybridge: One of the best views of this town is from the skybridge. It is such an amazing experience crossing the bridge. At the middle of the bridge there is a glass bottom, which lets you see directly underneath. CAUTION: If you’re afraid of heights, you might want to opt for not looking underneath.
➡️ Ober Gatlinburg: This amusement park is such a fun place to visit. I went on the Alpine Slide and the Ski Mountain Coaster, which I definitely recommend if you’re an adrenaline junkie or are looking for something fun! One of the best things about these rides is that you can control the speed.
➡️ The Village: In the downtown area of Gatlinburg, there is a cute hidden gem called “The Village”. It’s a great spot to step away from the crowded streets and escape into a peaceful oasis. It’s definitely a nice proposal spot. During this trip, my niece’s boyfriend proposed to her by their scenic fountain.

DAY 3
➡️ Dollywood: You HAVE TO visit Dollywood while in Gatlinburg. Located in the next town of Pigeon Forge, Dollywood is a fun amusement park for all ages. It includes both adult-friendly roller coasters as well as rides for the little ones. Plus, if you’re a Dolly Parton fan, there are lots of memorabilia that you can see and experience, including a replica of her childhood home.
➡️ Ole Smoky: Another MUST-EXPERIENCE activity is Whiskey & Moonshine tasting at any of the Ole Smoky distilleries. For , you can taste & sample a variety of Tennessee whiskey and Moonshine. You can literally get an amazing buzz going for that low price!

Overall, I think Gatlinburg offers a nice weekend getaway experience. There’s a lot of things I still missed out on during this first trip, so I would even recommend taking a second trip to finish any pending activities. From sight seeing to fun activities, there’s something for all ages.
