Huling Station Single Barrel Bourbon Review – The Nashville Bourbon Social Club “To The Moon!”

Today we review a Single Barrel pick of Huling Station Bourbon from the Nashville Bourbon Social Club!!! This distillery has ties back to Domenico Canale’s spirits business in 1866 out of Memphis, TN. Rail cars bearing oak-aged whiskeys rolled in and out of the D. Canale & Co. warehouse at Huling Station. In 2013, an unopened bottle of Old Dominick Toddy from the late 1800s was discovered and decedents, Chris and Alex Canale, decide to reinstate the historic brand started by their great great grandfather. This release was title “To The Moon!” by the whiskey club as a reference to Dogecoin.

The 117 proof shows up on the nose and the 44% rye in this bourbon is very apparent. The palate is very rye forward, with both herbal, mint and pepper notes coming through. The finish holds does smooth out and shows some sweet notes but it really shows its rye. With a few drops of water added, the nose drops the ethanol but gets very rye spicy…which comes right into the palate. We would recommend if you are in Memphis or looking for something different…it’s a solid value and we think you should give it a try! Cheers!!!
