Historic Tennessee Prison Devastated By Powerful Tornado

Powerful storms and at least one tornado ripped across Tennessee and the city of Nashville in the early hours of Tuesday 3rd of March, shredding dozens of buildings and killing at least 24 people, authorities said.

Two twisters struck for several hours after midnight, destroying everything in their path and burying people in piles of rubble – some of them in their beds.

A prison where scenes from “The Green Mile” and the Johnny Cash biopic “Walk the Line” were filmed was also torn apart as a tornado ripped through the state.

Dozens of people are still missing across the state, with search and rescue teams deployed in the area.

Nashville Mayor John Cooper wrote on Twitter that the “community has been devastated.”
