Fools for Fashion (music video) – The Talk

The Talk was a Northwest US pop band based out of Missoula Montana. They were highly popular and packed the regional dance clubs from 1981 to 1986 as they played the Pacific Northwest and Midwest club circuit. They were booked by the Good Music Agency (Missoula/ Minneapolis) and their run for over half a decade was the last of an era where live bands played to packed clubs Monday-Saturday on a circuit that had them appearing several times a year in each club. The band played 5-6 nights a week for 12 months out of the year in Bozeman, Missoula, Billings, Spokane, Rapid City, Minneapolis, Idaho Falls, Aberdeen, Vancouver BC, Victoria BC, Longview, Kennewick, Havre and many other cities and college towns. The band released 3 studio albums on Missoula based label Seal Pup Records. They garnered regional airplay and produced a video (Fools for Fashion) that was shown on MTV Basement Tapes. The members included Wylie Gustafson (vocals, bass), Randy Pavlish (drums, vocals), Tom Nash (guitar, keyboards, vocals) and Ken Toft (guitar, keyboards, vocals). Erik Gustafson was the guitarist (pre Ken Toft). This video was shot in the basement of “The Carousel” bar in Missoula Montana circa 1985.
